Engines from GE Aviation Czech have the right sound worldwide

17. 08. 2015
Prague, 2014 was a truly breakthrough year for GE Aviation Czech. There were several successful new aircraft projects with the H-engine line taking off, sales of these engines grew rapidly again and the company managed to reduce production costs thanks to better technologies and more efficient practices.

The company presented its successes achieved last year at an informal meeting with partners and stakeholders, including the US Ambassador Andrew Schapiro, Karel Kučera, CEO of CzechInvest, Tomáš Novotný, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, and Michal Hašek, Prague City Councillor. GE Aviation welcomed the partners, along with other representatives of the Prague City, the U.S. Embassy, Ministry of Industry and Trade and CzechInvest, to its production plant in Letňany to present successes, objectives and plans for the future set by GE Aviation Czech. During the event, the guests also had the opportunity to discuss further investments and enjoy the tour in the Research and Development Centre. GE Aviation Czech is an aircraft engines manufacturer based in Prague - Letňany. Its activities include sale, service, manufacturing and development of new engines. The company provides jobs to more than 400 employees and it is the largest centre of production and development of turboprop engines in the country. Last year, the company managed to increase the sales of the H75 and H80 turboprop engines by 30% (compared to 2013). 2014 was a very successful year for GE Aviation Czech. The company managed to develop further modification of the H75 turboprop engine designed for the L410 aircraft conversion of Air Tec, the South African operator. Moreover, the H80 engine manufacturing also continued successfully. Thrush 510G agricultural aircraft was the first aircraft to have entered service powered by H80 engines and now (four years after the first flight) more than a half of the new Thrush production is already equipped with the H80 engines. Last year, there were several successful new aircraft projects with the H-engine line taking off. Jim Stoker, CEO at GE Aviation Czech, mentions just a few of them: “The H75 upgrade was certified for L410 conversion during spring 2014, the Rysachok, a new Russian business turboprop aircraft, completed the first flight with the H80 engine and the Chinese Caiga AG300 business prop with the modified H85 engine achieved its first flight. All of those projects are great business opportunities for the future of GE Aviation Czech.”  In addition to significant commercial success, the company was also awarded Exporter of the Year in the category of the Best export transactions supported by the State. Various innovations continue also in 2015. Early this year, the first flight of the Nextant G90XT aircraft powered by the H75 engine took place, which means that GE Aviation enters the market of turboprop aircrafts for private business clients. The company also expects to use the new H85 engine to power a new generation of the L410NG aircrafts from Aircraft Industries.
